Melodee Walker is a learning specialist and educational consultant with twenty-two years of teaching, research, and advocacy experience. During her doctoral studies in Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin, Melodee supported grant-funded research at the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk investigating multicomponent reading instruction. Melodee has taught preservice teachers during professorships at Boston University and the University of Connecticut. She specializes in designing and providing customized professional development for content including building understanding about learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD, the science of reading, evidence-based reading instruction, and supporting diverse learners. She has also supported professional development across the nation for the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) frameworks, data-based individualization (DBI), and high-quality reading instruction.
